Kylie Fahey

CEO, Institute of Quarrying Australia


Kylie has over 15 years’ experience in senior executive roles working across all aspects of business from corporate strategy to operational improvement. Kylie has worked across numerous sectors including civil construction, health, property development and education and has experience in the public and private sectors. She has experience in governance as a director and company secretary and is a financially astute leader who delivers a vision for growth and empowers teams to achieve results.

Kylie is the current CEO of the Institute of Quarrying Australia and is responsible for educational activities of the Institute.

She is currently an Approved Advisor for the Advisory Board Centre, working with businesses to provide solutions for growth and sustainability. 

Tegan Smith

Director and Principal – Planning and Environment, Groundwork Plus


Tegan Smith has over 14 years’ experience in the quarrying industry, starting with Groundwork Plus in 2003 prior to being made Partner in 2008. Tegan is well known for her passion for the extractive industry and has particular interests in town planning, environmental legislation and advocacy. Tegan assists the planning and environment sub-committee for Cement Concrete and Aggregates Australia providing ongoing assistance on planning and environmental legislation throughout Queensland and liaising with State and Local Governments on the drafting of legislation and Policy. Tegan is also an active member of the Institute of Quarrying Australia, having recently founded the Women in Quarrying initiative in Queensland.
